12 August 2020

Dear Valued Customer

At lunchtime today Auckland moved to Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand moved to Level 2

As you will be aware, from 12 noon today, Wednesday 12 August 2020 -  Auckland moved to Alert Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand moved to Alert Level 2.

In very brief terms this means that:

  • All of our 75 branches will remain open normal hours for trade business.
  • Auckland branches will go back to contactless trading with no or very limited customer access into the branch building and a strong focus on pre-ordering for contactless pick up/delivery.
  • For all branches outside of the Auckland boundaries, customers can continue to come into the branch to buy goods “in the traditional way”.
  • All branches will be re-adopting additional safety measures around physical distancing, contact tracing and good hygiene.

While this move back to more restrictive Levels is disappointing for everyone, we have all been here before and shown that our industry can operate safely and well at these Alert Levels.

Auckland branches at Alert Level 3

All of our Auckland branches (19 branches from Warkworth to Pukekohe) will remain open normal hours for trade customer business.

But all the important Level 3 safety measures will be back in place.  So for Auckland branches only from lunchtime today:

  1. All sales transactions and other engagements between our staff and our customers must be contactless with good physical distancing.
  1. We ask that, as much as possible, you order in advance online via on2Site (www.jarussell.co.nz) or by phone or email and agree a collection time or delivery arrangements.
  1. You can turn up at an Auckland branch and make an order, but service may be a bit slower than normal.
  1. Where practicable (and weather permitting) Auckland branches will have designated order taking and collection locations outside the branch building.
  1. Where you do need to go into an Auckland branch to collect pre-ordered goods or make an order:
  • Entry into the branch will be controlled to ensure that the number of people in the branch is manageable and good physical distancing is maintained.
  • Please sanitise your hands on entry and follow all notices and staff instructions.
  • You will only be able to go to designated order taking or collection points that are as close to the branch entry as practicable.  You will not be able to move around the shelves and pick up goods.
  1. Our staff will follow good hygiene practices and we will be doing regular additional cleaning of high contact areas in the branch.
  1. We will need to collect your contact tracing details (name, phone number and account code).
  1. We will be providing delivery services in a contactless manner.  We will take a photo of you with the goods as proof of delivery and your signature will not be required.

If things change and we need to alter our Alert Level 3 procedures for our Auckland branches – we will let you know.

Rest of New Zealand branches at Level 2

All J. A. Russell/Radcliffe Electrical branches outside of Auckland will remain open normal hours for in-store sales to trade and retail customers.

You can turn up to the branch “in the traditional way” and make an order at the counter or walk around the showroom shelves and pick up the goods you want and bring them to the counter.

But the important additional Level 2 safety measures will be back in place.  So from lunchtime today for branches outside of Auckland:

  1. Please maintain a good physical distance gap between yourself and other people in the branch.   At busy times, entry into the branch will be controlled to enable this.
  1. Please sanitise your hands on entry and follow all notices and staff instructions.
  1. You can continue to walk around the showroom shelves and pick up the goods you want and take them to the counter.
  1. We encourage you to order in advance online via on2Site (www.jarussell.co.nz) or by phone or email and agree a collection time or delivery arrangements.

If things change and we need to alter our Alert Level 2 procedures for branches outside of Auckland – we will let you know.

Another push for on2Site

Many customers found on2Site a fast, efficient, accurate and safe way to order goods during the previous Level 2 and 3 periods and we encourage you to start using on2Site more again or, if you have not tried it yet, to give on2Site a go.

You can register for on2Site by clicking on the link below and following the simple instructions.  For security, you will need one of our statements with at least two invoices on it.

Click here to register for on2Site

We have recently made more improvements to on2Site including:

  • When you place an on2Site order the site now shows the closest branches that can supply the order in full (from stock in the branch at the time of order).
  • When your on2Site order is ready for collection, we can send you a text/email to let you know.  If you message us back when you are in the car park, we will bring the order out to your car.

Thank you and stay safe

Thank you for your business and support.   We are committed to providing you with the best service we can in a safe manner.  We ask you to work with us, in good humour, as we restart the Level 3 (in Auckland) and Level 2 (rest of NZ) safety measures in a bit of a rush today.

Good luck and stay safe.

Kind regards
